Knowledge. Skills. Financial freedom.

The Academy I founded to teach financial governance the way it is practised: on live institutional problems, with tools members take back to work on Monday.

Why it exists

Courses teach. Clinics solve.

I have trained more than 200 institutions, and the pattern is always the same: a board attends a course, understands it, goes home and does nothing, because the course used somebody else's case study and their own institution looks nothing like it.

The Academy is built the other way round. Members bring a live problem, I work it with them using their numbers, and they leave with the decision made rather than the theory understood.

The method

Learn → Apply → Mentor → Coach → Measure → Improve

The same method runs through the advisory work, the clinics and the curriculum.

What members get

Inside the Academy.

The curriculum

A structured programme across financial governance, credit and risk, financial management, fraud prevention and control, compliance and board effectiveness. Each module ends in a practical output.

The clinics

Monthly live sessions. A member presents a real institutional problem and I work it together. Members attend free and leave with the templates behind each one.

The tools

The diagnostic instruments, board templates, checklists and trackers I use in engagements, provided to members rather than sold separately.

The community

Practitioners across Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and beyond, asking each other the questions they cannot ask their regulator.

What is taught

The courses.

Financial governance fundamentals

The ten governance dimensions, how each is evidenced, and the action each score band triggers.

Fraud prevention, detection and control

How fraud occurs in savings, lending, cash management, digital channels, procurement and staff operations, and the controls that stop it. Segregation of duties, maker-checker, authorisation limits and fraud-risk assessment.

Credit governance and portfolio quality

Loan appraisal, risk appetite, arrears management and portfolio at risk control, using the institution's own loan files.

Financial management for boards

Reading a CAMEL dashboard, a cash flow forecast and an audit report, and knowing which questions to ask about each.

The Financial Governance Masterclass

A two-hour live session on the critical mistakes leaders must avoid, with a toolkit: the health check, board dashboard, internal control checklist, credit governance checklist, fraud risk checklist, compliance calendar, audit follow-up tracker and a 30-day improvement plan.

Learn it the way it is practised.
